Last week I popped into my local Primark which is a rare thing to do I must admit, because although people find all these amazing treasures in Primark every time I venture in I just find tat. However after strolling around for a short period of time I ventured into their shoe department. Now I’m not sure who is currently designing for Primark, but my god they are doing it right! Look at these adorable little golden bees on the velvet flats I picked up for £8! Yes, that is not a typo £8!
Being allergic to colour I obviously purchased the black velvet colourway, yet this style was also available in both teal green and a deep cranberry red and I’m not going to lie, there is a slight chance I will also own both of those colourways by the time I publish this post.
They are slightly more sturdy then your usual ballet pumps which is a shoe style I tend to steer clear of, because lets face it I’m not your regular girly girl and I’m usually found stomping around in a pair of Dr.Martens or falling over in ridiculously high platforms.
One issue I have found whilst wearing them was the fit. I purchased my usual shoe size however I find them to be slightly tight, I do believe if I had of sized up they would be far too big so I’m hoping they will stretch slightly and become more comfortable in time.
The embroided golden bee motif seems to be a huge trend for A/W17 after being seen at Gucci, and as always velvet comes out to play in the later months of the year, and I am already longing for the velvet green jacket that Monsoon will be bringing out this season. Which brings me to my last point. Although these shoes are part of the pre-fall 17 styles to help us transition from summer into the beginning of the autumn months, I generally think these shoes will also be fantastic (dare I say it) for the festive period. That is if you aren’t a big lover of heels but want something that stands out but is still classy. Pair them with a black velvet blazer, skinny jeans and some amazing chunky accessories and you will be laughing for your Christmas night out.
